Olathe's Two Trails Park will get a universally inclusive playground
The Daily Overland Park team
If you've got little ones, Olathe's Two Trails Park is getting a playground built for every child. Variety KC announced Thursday that the park is the third site in its Ten Parks Project, which aims to build 10 universally inclusive parks across the metro. Roy Blunt Luminary Park in Kansas City, Missouri, and Joe D. Dennis Park in Westwood came first.

The nonprofit has granted the city $3 million to build the playground, and the Olathe Reporter's headline says construction will begin in Summer 2027. A $30 million commitment from Peter and Veronica Mallouk and the Mallouk Family Foundation covers 80% of the project's total cost, and Olathe is contributing 20% of this park's cost.
“Every child deserves to join in the fun and feel like they belong.”
