  • Marissa Whiteman, a longtime Kansas City Ballet dancer in her 12th Nutcracker season, detailed her process of custom fitting over 500 pointe shoes while production director Amy Taylor manages more than 1,100 pairs ordered from abroad & oversees technical planning; tickets for the cherished holiday show are now available online.  KSHB

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Hazmat teams are testing the water at Kingston Lake Park (closed until today) after a diesel fuel odor was reported near the park. City officials say there is no ongoing spill but advise residents to avoid the area since the water is unsafe for pets.  KCTV 5

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Johnson County Board of County Commissioners approved pilot shuttle service from Lenexa City Center and Overland Park Convention Center to Kansas City International Airport during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The nine-month pilot, supported by local funds and a Federal grant, will expand travel options.  KCTV 5

SPORTS NEWS

  • TCU's women’s soccer team, led by local talents (Grace Coppinger and Grace Vest), will face Florida State at 5 p.m. today at CPKC Stadium as part of the NCAA Final Four, with the championship set for Monday.  KSHB
