ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, many communities along and north of Interstate 70 remain dry — though areas south of the highway may see light rain showers this morning and afternoon. Starting Thursday evening, scattered showers will move in from the south and spread across northeastern Kansas and western Missouri, with rain tapering off late Friday and providing needed moisture to drought-stricken regions. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Overland Park has launched a Snow Operations Map that shows updated snow removal details before, during and after winter storms. The city invites residents to submit creative snowplow names by Dec. 1 and will add the chosen names to the map for the winter season. FOX 4 KC
- ➤ Overland Park announced today its new Portfolio Homes program that offers free, pre-reviewed home plans on any legal lot to boost the supply of mid-size homes. The program provides plans from 600 to 2,200 square feet and waives building permit fees—designed to streamline the home-building process. KMBC News
