- ➤ On Saturday, April 11th, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City will host Kids Night Out 2026 at the Overland Park Convention Center with country singer Cole Swindell headlining. The annual charity event—marking 30 years and serving over 1,200 local children—will feature a cocktail reception, live auctions, and dinner. FOX 4 KC
- ➤ This weekend, Kansas City and nearby areas will host a variety of holiday and sports events from today through Sunday—ice skating at Crown Center, a tree lighting at Tanger Outlets, festive markets, a football rivalry game, a pickleball tournament in Overland Park, and a reptile show. - ➤ KCMO City Council declared November 13th as Big Sonia Day to honor Holocaust survivor Sonia Warshawski, who celebrated her 100th birthday on November 10th. The council said the day recognizes her lasting contributions while the Glenwood Arts Theatre will screen her documentary on November 15th (a planned tribute) (inviting further community reflection). - ➤ The Johnson County Board of County Commissioners approved a plan to add nine full-time positions to the ambulance service to expand work hours and work toward a 10-minute response goal — starting next year, users will pay higher fees that remain below the regional average instead of raising property taxes.
