- ➤ Bob Norris, co-founder of Corey's Network, died unexpectedly at 73 this week, leaving local organizations mourning his dedication to victims' advocacy after his son was killed in 2013 — the nonprofit will pause operations as his family grieves. KSHB
- ➤ Kansas City Jewish leaders remain hopeful that a peace deal for the Israel+Hamas conflict will soon bring safety and the return of hostages two years after the October 7th attacks; they noted that celebrations in Israel and Gaza come amid rising local anti-semitic incidents. KSHB

- ➤ The Overland Park Police Department announced a new voluntary program to help first responders communicate better with neurodivergent community members—providing free decals, blue envelopes and resource cards—and train officers to adjust approaches during interactions. FOX 4 KC

- ➤ Blue Valley North head football coach Gene Wier resigned after less than two seasons leading the team. The school will now begin its search for his replacement. KCTV 5
- ➤ Savannah Bananas will return to Kauffman Stadium in 2026 for two exhibition games — the ticket lottery list for tickets is open until Oct. 31. KCTV 5
- ➤ Olathe Northwest football was named Hy-Vee High School Team of the Week and earned a 4—1 record for the season. The team will build on their success as they prepare for upcoming games. KCTV 5
- ➤ Today, reporter Taylor Hemness is live at Mill Valley High School as the Jaguars football team is featured on the Today Show's 'Friday Morning Lights' segment. The team is 4-1 + they will host Olathe West tonight. KSHB
- ➤ The Chiefs hired a consulting firm to lead the search for a new stadium design in Kansas and are meeting with Populous — a firm discussing renovations at GEHA Field in Missouri. Officials said the team may consider a domed stadium if it moves to Kansas in the future. KSHB
