BUSINESS NEWS

  • Buc-ee’s will break ground later this month on its first travel center in Kansas City, Kansas. Construction begins on Oct. 16 at a 74,000-square-foot site near Interstate 70 and West Village Parkway — the facility will feature 120 fueling stations, offer a range of foods and retail products, and add at least 225 full-time jobs, with a grand opening timeline to be announced.  KMBC News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Overland Park declared the former Incred-A-Bowl unsafe after inspectors found interior damage from unauthorized work on the roof and support structures of the vacant bowling alley on 151st Street, west of Highway 69. The city gave the owner a 60-day extension to make repairs or face demolition—officials may condemn the building if it remains in danger.  FOX 4 KC

SPORTS NEWS

  • Local architecture firm Populous updated its renovation plans for GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium today after a fan survey of over 300,000 influenced changes, and Chiefs President Mark Donovan said the team is working with consulting firm CAA Icon to gather quotes for a possible domed stadium — while Kansas and Missouri remain under consideration as options with the lease expiring in 2031.  FOX 4 KC
