- ➤ The second annual LJW 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will take place on Sept. 11 at Arrowhead Stadium to honor first responders killed on 9/11. Over 500 people participated last year, making 30 trips up and down the lower bowl – a climb equal to 110 stories – as funds raised will support SAFE in helping families of fallen heroes. KMBC News

- ➤ Pinstripes announced that its bowling, bocce and bistro location at Prairiefire in Overland Park will close due to unforeseen circumstances—customers will need to find new options for dining and recreation. KCTV 5

- ➤ On Tuesday, movers found two World War II grenades in a Prairie Village home and police called the Overland Park EOD team to remove them safely—officials clarified the items belonged to an elderly resident with historic memorabilia. FOX 4 KC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Overland Park City Council approved a $500,000 federal grant for the Safe Streets and Roads for All program to improve walkability and bikeability. The grant includes directives requiring cooperation with ICE and banning DEI programs—city officials stressed that current practices remain unchanged. KMBC News
- ➤ The Kansas Corporation Commission said the Lifeline program helps Kansas residents pay less for phone and internet service by offering monthly discounts up to $17.02 for qualified users—supporting those on tribal lands and survivors of domestic violence.
