- ➤ The Kansas City metro will host many fall events this month — including apple festivals, outdoor movie nights and golf tournaments that promise fun for families across the region. In Overland Park, the local Fall Festival will take place Sept. 26-27 and will feature live music, local vendors and a shuttle from Shawnee Mission West High School. FOX 4 KC
- ➤ Callsign Brewing will release a commemorative beer called Extortion 1‑7 this weekend to honor fallen Kansas soldier CW2 Bryan Nichols whose Chinook helicopter was shot down in August 2011—proceeds will benefit Special Ops Survivors to support families of fallen personnel. KSHB

- ➤ A child died and another was taken to a hospital following a medical incident inside a car on eastbound Kansas Highway 10 near Kill Creek Road in Johnson County on Sep 4 at 5:30 p.m. — authorities continue to investigate the incident. FOX 4 KC
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ An Overland Park man charged with second-degree murder for a 2021 crash that killed a 75-year-old woman was arrested in Mexico—he was booked into a Texas jail with a hearing set for Sept.8, while authorities work to return him to Johnson County. KSHB
- ➤ Elias Rodriguez—accused of killing Overland Park native Sarah Milgrim and her boyfriend Yaron Lischinsky outside an event near the Israeli Embassy—pleaded not guilty to nine counts including first-degree murder. KCTV 5
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Hy-Vee announced Thursday that it opened new Health Exemplar Care clinics in Overland Park and Lee’s Summit—both offering monthly memberships for unlimited direct primary and walk-in care with in-person appointments from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and telehealth access via text or email.
