- ➤ U.S. News & World Report released its 2025 high school rankings yesterday, listing Sumner Academy as the top school in Kansas while five Blue Valley district schools, including Blue Valley Northwest in Overland Park, ranked in the top ten. In Missouri, Lincoln College Preparatory Academy ranked third as the rankings measured graduation rates, test scores, and college readiness. KMBC News

- ➤ Sporting Kansas City received the Police Chief Community Partnership Award on August 19th—officials said the honor recognizes the club’s work to strengthen ties with local law enforcement. This acknowledgment highlights their commitment to community safety. KCTV 5
- ➤ Metro leaders are addressing high cost & limited transportation that keep many kids from playing sports. They plan to work with local groups and secure funding to reduce these barriers. KCTV 5
