EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Many Kansas school districts return to school today while Blue Valley teachers welcome students — the Chiefs wrap up training camp in St. Joseph as they prepare for their next game. KMBC News
- ➤ Shawnee Mission School District superintendent outlined new safety measures for the school year, including an updated cell phone policy—designed to help teachers enforce the rules and protect students as classes resume. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks issued a public advisory for Kansas lakes because of blue-green algae—people are urged to avoid water contact and keep pets away when signs of algae such as foam appear.
