6 to a duplex fire at 98th and Metcalf Ave where a man searching for his cat was helped out and later taken to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation—firefighters quickly controlled the kitchen blaze and the cat was found safe.
A duplex fire near 98th Street + Metcalf Lane on Wednesday evening caused one man to be hospitalized for smoke inhalation and displaced two residents, while firefighters contained the kitchen blaze in about 10 minutes plus a rescued cat was found unharmed.
