- ➤ Great Plains SPCA is giving free 'Bring Your Pet Inside Kits' to help pet owners create a cool safe space as a 105-degree heat index is expected today and may rise tomorrow—owners can email the shelter to arrange a kit pick-up. FOX 4 KC
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Overland Park Fire Department confirmed that a woman died when flash flooding rose too quickly on a local trail Monday afternoon. KCTV 5
- ➤ Overland Park Police said one woman died in floodwaters Monday morning when she was swept away on her walk near the trail at 155th Street and Woodson Lane—Overland Park Fire Department conducted a water rescue at 11 a.m. and her family is being notified while a medical examiner awaits confirmation. KMBC News
- ➤ Drowning-related calls in Johnson County have doubled this summer, including at least one death, and JoCo MED-ACT warned parents at unsupervised neighborhood pools to be prepared to act as a lifeguard—reminding them to learn CPR and keep a constant eye on children. KSHB

- ➤ Production for Ted Lasso season four began in Kansas City—filming started at Gates BBQ and other spots—and plans include scenes in Blue Springs and Lee's Summit with Overland Park native Jason Sudeikis starring in the show that airs on Apple TV. FOX 4 KC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment will offer three walk-in vaccination clinics for students from preschool through 12th grade to receive required immunizations for the 2025 to 2026 school year. The clinics will occur on July 25 (1 to 4 p.m.) and Aug. 1 (1 to 4 p.m.) at the Health Services Building in Olathe and on Aug. 8 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at the Northeast Office Building in Mission, and parents must accompany their students while bringing proper documents.
