BUSINESS NEWS

  • The ribs special began on July 14 and will run until July 20 at all Jack Stack locations — every $5 from each sale goes to FosterAdopt Connect to support vital services for children in the foster care system.  KCTV 5
  • Panasonic celebrated its grand opening in De Soto for its new electric vehicle battery plant, which began production last week with reduced output. Local officials said the plant will add six to eight production lines and hire up to 4,000 workers in about 18 months — a move that revives advanced manufacturing jobs in the area.  KSHB
  • Propio, a fast-growing language services company, said on Tuesday, July 15 that it will move its headquarters to Overland Park in the fourth quarter after leasing 81,500 square feet of modern office space at 4950-4900 College Blvd. The new building is designed to support long-term growth and includes employee amenities such as a gym and onsite cafe.  KCTV 5

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Overland Park has set aside funds for a property tax rebate that gives eligible residents up to 75% off their property taxes—applicants must meet income requirements—and officials say the measure will ease homeowner expenses.  KCTV 5
