- ➤ The Autism Resource Center located at 8550 Marshall Drive in Overland Park opened its doors today to offer pre-vocational training, social skills, and wellness classes for adults with autism spectrum disorder—enrolling participants for summer session programs with half-day or full-day options. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kansas leaders extended the STAR bond law—allowing its use retroactively for up to one year—to give the Chiefs and Royals extra time to negotiate plans for relocating their stadiums to the state amid competing proposals from Missouri. KSHB
- ➤ On July 7, Kansas regulators approved two settlement agreements that let Evergy recoup more than $1 billion spent on three new projects—two gas plants and a solar facility—from customers, with no immediate rate change. The KCC said Evergy will need to pace future investments to match load growth and keep rates affordable. KCTV 5
- ➤ Overland Park City Council approved the purchase of a centrally located building at 6201 College Boulevard on Monday night and set plans to renovate it into a new city hall by 2034. The city will spend nearly $109 million from its cash reserve fund, with $22.5M for the purchase + $86.5M for renovations. KCTV 5
