ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fatal crash occurred late Saturday night near Shawnee Mission Parkway and Metcalf when a driver lost control and struck a tree—killing 24-year-old Narender Jalla at the scene while the driver and two passengers were taken to a nearby hospital. KSHB
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Ahmad Mohammad Karraz, 22, pleaded guilty on June 3 to charges of distribution of drugs causing death and use of a communication facility during a drug felony in connection with the Dec. 29, 2023 death of Overland Park resident Kylie Liston (24-year-old) and is set for sentencing on Aug. 20 (1:30 p.m.). - ➤ Communities across the Kansas City area are preparing for Juneteenth, a federal holiday marking the end of slavery, with planned parades, festivals, and historic tributes beginning June 6.
