Prairie Village native Sarah Milgrim was laid to rest Tuesday after she and her boyfriend were fatally shot outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.—her boyfriend’s funeral was held in Israel while court records show the suspected shooter claimed he acted for Palestine and Gaza as her family begins a traditional seven-day mourning period.

Nearly 700 people gathered at Congregation Beth Torah on Tuesday morning to honor Sarah Milgrim, who was fatally shot last Wednesday outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.—her family requested donations to the Jewish Federation to help preserve her legacy.
