- ➤ Shirt sales have raised over $380k for the family of Graham Hoffman, who was killed on April 27 while transporting a patient to the hospital according to court documents. KCTV 5
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Overland Park fire crews responded at 6:30 a.m. Sunday to a fire at 117th and Craig and brought the blaze under control in about 10 minutes — one resident was taken for minor smoke inhalation after trying to put out the fire with a garden hose. KSHB
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Kansas prison staff found inmate Jason W. Cott unresponsive in his cell at Larned State Correctional Facility on May 10 and emergency crews tried to revive him before he was pronounced dead at a hospital (he was serving two life sentences for murder in Johnson County and an autopsy is pending). - ➤ Jason W. Cott, a 45-year-old Johnson County man convicted in 2010 of murdering his pregnant wife and unborn child, died on May 10 at Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility & investigators are awaiting independent autopsy results. KCTV 5

- ➤ Gardner condemned Aspen Place Apartments on May 6 due to serious water, sewer and road issues, forcing residents to leave within 48 hours. Chasidy Rios, who had lived there for two years with her four children—including a 4-year-old son with autism—left in a rush and is now staying in a hotel paid for by Kansas Legal Services while she searches for a new permanent home.
