  • Police responded to a deadly crash on W. 151st Street and England Street at 8:30 p.m. on May 8 when a vehicle struck another during a U-turn—29-year-old Joshua Haines died at the hospital.  KCTV 5

  • Overland Park police responded to a fatal crash on West 151st Street—where a vehicle going east hit a car making a U-turn that killed 29-year-old Joshua Haines—and the investigation remains ongoing.  KMBC News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Voters in Johnson County will decide on extending the public safety sales tax in the November election; originally approved in 2016 — the tax has generated $54 million for services like Med-Act 911 and mental health crisis intervention — the measure comes as rising costs and demand for public safety services increase.  KSHB
