- ➤ Five former Postal Service employees, including one from Overland Park, were charged with conspiracy to steal mail and theft of mail for allegedly taking Amazon return packages and other items from the Roberts post office between early and mid-October 2023—federal prosecutors said. KSHB
- ➤ 55-year-old Kerry Malone pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter in a 2024 Roeland Park homicide—he killed 65-year-old David Stark on July 18 and Stark’s body was found during a welfare check near 49th and Briar— and was sentenced to more than eight years in prison by a Johnson County judge. - ➤ Former Overland Park police officers who resigned amid an investigation into misused charity funds have been ordered to repay more than $27,500—court records show the officers face bans from accepting donations or serving on charity boards while civil cases continue.
