Fred Dantzler, owner of Officially Chopped Barbershop, will host the second annual Fishing for Success event at Shawnee Mission Park this Sunday to take 42 children fishing and serve them a fresh lunch—he is also asking for donations and volunteers to support the event.

Most of the participating children come from single-parent or foster care households, and Dantzler hopes the event will build hope and leadership among local youth.

The Overland Park Police are searching for a 30-pound black, brown, and white short-hair terrier and its slender Asian owner, aged 25 to 30 with dark hair, after the dog bit a person near West 95th Street and Mission Road around 2 p.m. Thursday and the victim was taken to the hospital.
