- ➤ JewBelong, a New York City-based nonprofit, sponsored a series of pink and white billboards at seven Kansas City metro locations to support the Jewish community amid a 500% surge in local antisemitic incidents. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A semi flipped on I-435 eastbound at 104th Street early Friday morning, limiting traffic as three lanes were closed for investigation—police said no other vehicles were involved and the driver suffered minor injuries. KSHB
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ An Overland Park man, Barry Cummings, 52, pleaded guilty to mail fraud for submitting false invoices—causing a $1.2 million loss to an energy management company's rewards program—and was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison. FOX 4 KC

- ➤ Blue Valley Schools named Dr. Gillian Chapman as the new superintendent—her appointment was approved unanimously on April 11—and she will begin on July 1 after Dr. Tonya Merrigan retires. FOX 4

Moran and three GOP senators sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Thune urging that certain clean energy tax credits from 2022 remain in place because they support projects like the Panasonic electric vehicle battery plant planned for De Soto—removing them risks uncertainty in capital allocation, project planning and job creation.
