- ➤ Shawnee Mission East senior Lucy Pace received the Scholar Athlete Award for strong academics, competitive debate, and leadership on the cheer team —she has been a varsity captain for four years. She will attend the University of Kansas in the fall. KMBC News

- ➤ Martha Wiley, a retired teacher, and her daughter Michelle Mirakian launched Kids on the Move to teach physics with fun stories and simple experiments using items from home. GOVERNMENT NEWS

Laura Kelly signed several bills today—one allows certified registered nurse anesthetists to prescribe certain narcotics when qualified—to expand healthcare access and reduce wait times. She also signed laws to shift public funds investment, adjust vehicle dealer title rules, assess fees for poultry producers, simplify guardianship orders, authorize temporary cosmetology permits and transfer health awareness programs. - ➤ U.S. senators from the Midwest, including Roger Marshall, urged the Department of the Interior to reinstate potash and add phosphate to the Critical Minerals List to support domestic fertilizer production and keep costs low for farmers — a move they said would strengthen supply chains — in a letter to Secretary Doug Burgum.
