- ➤ Lyric Opera of Kansas City announced the world premiere of Maya and the Magic Ring, a new family opera in which a young girl rubs a magic ruby ring found with her grandmother and accidentally releases a genie — sparking unexpected chaos. The production will run for 12 shows from March 27 through April 12 and include a ticketed performance today at 2:00 p.m. — held at Polsky Theatre on the campus of Johnson County Community College.
