- ➤ The Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead in Overland Park will open for the 2025 season next week with opening day on Tuesday, April 1 at 9 a.m. The farmstead will feature a new play structure, over 250 animals, live entertainment, and sensory-friendly early admission hours—special times for visitors with sensory sensitivities offered from May through August. - ➤ Enkae Chang from Overland Park and Francielle Chang from Curitiba, Brazil started their relationship with a Facebook friend request in 2018, met in 2020, and completed a long K-1 visa process that brought Francielle to the U.S. in June 2023. After marrying within 90 days and securing her green card six months later, the couple plans to welcome their first child due on July 25—marking a new chapter that also leads Francielle to help others with immigration—while looking ahead to future citizenship. - ➤ Kansas lawmakers are pushing a bill that would make it a felony for registered sex offenders convicted of crimes against minors to enter school property after parents in the Blue Valley School District complained when an offender served as a chaperone at an elementary school dance—Senate Sub for HB 2164 passed with a vote of 37—3 and the proposal mirrors Missouri's restrictions that keep offenders away from schools.
